Duties and responsibilities of this medical professional is to provide family planning services to eligible women, men, and teens in accordance to Title X Guidelines. This includes obtaining client medical history, assessment, physical history, ordering diagnostics labs, diagnosing and treating acute gynecological conditions, such as STI’s and to counsel, prescribe and manage a range of contraceptive methods. Prescribe pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV and follow-up on clients receiving non-occupational post exposure prophylaxis (nPEP) for HIV. Monitor and alter medications. Manage abnormal laboratory results and initiate primary care referrals. Maintains records and reports documenting care provided and duties performed. 

Incumbent will perform procedures such as insertion and removal of Intrauterine Devices (IUD) and Implant Devices (eg. Nexplanon); Perform colposcopy and cryotherapy.

Participates in educational, professional community activities that relate to the improvement in job performance and aid in the improvement of patient care. Attend trainings and conferences for professional development as required.

Work may be performed in a variety of sites, i.e. office/clinic and community settings and will be performed under the general supervision of the Health Center Administrator and reviewed for compliance with program and department policy and procedure. Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.  Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs shelters, PODs or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat

  • Licensed as a physician pursuant to Chapter 458, FL Statutes.
  • Experience performing IUD insertion and removal procedure.
  • Experience performing Nexplanon implant device.
  • Experience performing colposcopy and cryotherapy.  
  • Able and willing to work late evenings until 8:00 p.m.
  • Valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel to various sites, determined by program needs.
  • Experience supervising professional staff.


  • Board Certified in Obstetrics-Gynecology.
  • Three or more years of experience in the practice of Obstetrics-Gynecology following the completion of residency.
