SHIFT: Nights (rotating weekends)Have you always dreamed of working in the ICU? Are you a current RN with at least 1 year of acute care experience? The ICU Plus program is for you! Riverside Community Hospital has a unique opportunity with the StaRN Plus.
This cohort will start several times in 2022.
Accelerate your nursing career by joining our Specialty Training Apprenticeship for Registered Nurses (StaRN) program! We invite registered nurses to apply for a unique opportunity to have didactic and clinical training by HealthTrust (a part of the HCA family).
Didactic training: introduces nurses to core curriculum and hospital initiatives in a classroom setting (4 to 6 weeks)
Simulation training: reinforces nursing skills learned in the didactic setting (1 week)
Hands on training: with a facility preceptor in your nursing unit (6 to 8 weeks)
10week training for experienced RNs
Four (4) weeks of interactive classroom discussions, case studies, handson skills training, and simulations with experienced StaRN clinical instructors
Six (6) weeks of unitbased clinical preceptorship
Interactive classroom lectures/discussions
Curriculum based on evidencebased practice, National Standards and HCA Healthcare Clinical Standards of Excellence
Basic Dysrhythmia
AHA Basic Life Support / Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Meditech (EHR) handson training
Critical Care medication management
TeamSTEPPS training
CPI Crisis Prevention Intervention
AIDET, SBAR, Patient Experience, Falls and more
AACN: CCRN Online Review Course Online courses providing a broad base of content necessary for orientation for nurses new to Critical care nursing
Handson Critical Care skills training, that includes but not limited to:
IV and phlebotomy
Ventriculostomy set up and management
Chest tube management
Pump management
Critical care medication titration
Blood administration
Hemodynamic monitoring
Ventilator management/troubleshooting
Five Days of highfidelity simulation
Critical Care specific scenarios
Comprehensive facilitated video debriefing
The StaRN ICU Plus program provides a pathway for experienced RN to transition into the
Practice with a strong core of nursing fundamentals and critical thinking skills.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Graduateof an Accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred.
Candidatesmust have previous acute care experience
Independentlymaintains license
Acquiresrequired contact hours to maintain license
Must belicensed by the state of California
Trainingwill include BLS/ACLS certification
Self-motivatedand strong communication skills required
