Kidney and Liver Surgical Transplant Unit

PositionSummary:This position supportsthe mission of Presbyterian/St Lukes Medical Center of optimizing quality oflife of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medicalneeds to the needs of the whole person. The Surgical Telemetry RN isresponsible for the delivery of nursing care to the patient requiring telemetryand/or medical surgical care. The 34 bed Surgical Telemetry RN serves as primarynurse and/or care coordinator, leading the collaboration of all disciplines forwell-coordinated patient care. The Surgical Telemetry RN oversees anddirects the care of assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability forthe care given to assigned patients. When the need arises, will performother duties as assigned by supervisor.

Current licensure in theState of Colorado as a Registered Nurse

BLS Healthcareprovider.

ACLS required within thefirst 12 months of hire.


Graduate of anaccredited school of nursing.

EKG interpretationcompetency and/or course within the first 6 months of hire.

BSN preferred.


One year experience inacute care preferred.

Special Qualifications:

Ability to communicateeffectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care teammembers.

Ability to manage a teamand work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.

Strong critical thinkingskills.
