Pace University College of Health Professions invites applications for the position of Director of the Physician Assistant - Pleasantville Program, at the rank of Clinical Associate Professor.

The Program Director is responsible for the overall planning, direction, and management of the Master of Physician Assistant Studies - Pleasantville Program. The Program Director will serve as the Program’s strategic, academic, and operational leader by guiding the faculty in program development, accreditation-related activities, curriculum, administration, teaching, research, and service. The Program Director will serve as an advocate for the program within the medical, academic, local and rural health communities.

Among the Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide for effective organization and administration of all aspects of the program’s operation and fiscal management, including human resource (search, hiring, orientation and performance assessment of faculty and staff).

• Provide for continuous review, analysis and modification of all aspects of the program’s operation to ensure attainment of the College of Health Profession’s (CHP) Mission, Vision and Goals and compliance with ARCPA standards.

• Provide oversight and execution of the continuous review, analysis and modification of the Physician Assistant Program - Pleasantville to ensure compliance with ARC-PA Standards and with NYS Office of Professions regulations for physician assistant education.

• Provide oversight of the program’s participation in the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) accreditation process.

• Oversee the Program’s Self-study process including the evaluation, assessment and revision, of program operation and curriculum.

• Oversee the identification of clinical affiliates, clinical site development and monitoring.

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the CHP Dean.


Teaching Responsibilities:

• Curriculum development and revision.

• Classroom and laboratory instruction.

• Assessment development, mapping and revision.

• Inter-professional education.

• Academic and professionalism advising.


Qualifications Required:

• Program Director must be a PA and hold a minimum of a master’s degree

• At least three years of full-time higher education experience at the time of appointment.

• Current or emeritus NCCPA certification status

• Knowledge about PA program organization, administration, fiscal management, continuous programmatic review and analysis, program planning, development, and the overall accreditation process.

• Demonstrated leadership and management experience, with strong communication, proactive problem solving and organizational skills.

• Experience in contributing to teaching/administration of an accredited PA program.
