Responsibilities Job Summary The Rapid Response Nurse is a critical care nurse who brings advanced clinical expertise through education and experience to the patients bedside outside of the ICUs, ED and Operating rooms. The primary function is to respond to requests for assistance from direct care givers in assessing and stabilizing a patients condition and organizing information to be communicated to the physicians and assist with transfer to a higher level of care as needed. The Rapid Response Nurse will provide guidance to direct care givers to enhance their ability to assess, recognize and plan care for the patient with a deteriorating condition. The Rapid Response Nurse will work collaboratively with the other members of the care team. The Rapid Response Nurse may also provide input to the Professional Development team to identify clinical learning opportunities for the direct care givers. Qualifications Active state RN license ACLS (or obtained within three months of employment) BLS one year full time or three years part time experience in critical care setting.
