The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Health Professions Department of Health Services Administration announces an opening for two full time, open-rank, tenure-track faculty positions to join our Department.

We seek applications from innovative, motivated, and engaged individuals who are committed to growing our research and scholarship in healthcare quality and safety, implementation science, healthcare operations management and leadership. This position will contribute to teaching in multiple programs in our department, including our masters programs in Health Care Quality and Safety, Healthcare Simulation, and Health Services Administration, undergraduate program in Health Care Management, and two doctoral programs. The ideal candidate will have expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas: quality improvement, patient safety and human factors, process improvement, health care delivery science, implementation science, leadership, or other related fields. In addition, the ideal candidate will have earned a terminal degree in a relevant discipline and have developed a research portfolio. Salary, rank, and tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

UAB’s Department of Health Services Administration offers two doctoral programs, and masters in Healthcare Quality and Safety (CAHME certified), Health Informatics (CAHIIM accredited), Health Administration (CAHME-accredited, ranked #1 in the nation by US News and World Report), Healthcare Simulation (one of a few in the nation). We also have a large, AUPHA-certified undergraduates program in Healthcare Management and we conduct tailored continuing programs with the field of practice. We are committed to developing leaders who will shape tomorrow’s health care and we live our values of Collaboration, Respect, Excellence, Integrity, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
