JOB SUMMARY:

 

The NP is an expert in pathophysiology, physical assessment and diagnosis, pharmacology and exercises authority in health promotion and disease management. The NP functions as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team and provides a wide range of patient services to a specific patient population across the continuum of health care. By utilizing the nursing process, scientific reasoning and critical problem solving, NPs practice within the scope of responsibilities and prescriptive authority defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and the Medical Staff Executive at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center.

 

Penn State Health Department of Orthopaedics is hiring an APP (PA or CRNP) to work in at the Penn State Health Lime Spring clinic location in Rohrerstown, Lancaster County, PA. In addition to the duties mentioned above, the position will work with orthopaedic surgeons, in the evaluation and management of musculoskeletal medical conditions; ordering laboratory, radiological and special studies; reduction of fractures and dislocations, splinting, casting, and injections; reading and interpreting imaging studies and laboratory reports..

 

Previous experience in an orthopaedic outpatient setting, preferred. Ability to work in a fast paced environment and prioritize multiple task and demands. Ability to maintain composure when confronted with stressful situations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, providers and patients.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Masters Degree in Nursing with clinical specialization required.

 

Two years work experience as a RN required.

 

Current licensed to practice as a CRNP by Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners required.

 

Must have demonstrated effective skills in consultation.

 

Certification as an NP in the area of practice specialization is preferred.
