We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and engaging leader to join us in these efforts and serve as the Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine Medical Director for our Surgical and Burn Intensive Care Unit at Bayview Medical Center. This is a unique opportunity to lead a robust, multidisciplinary ICU team that is actively involved in all facets of our tripartite mission.

Medical Director Role

The Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine Medical Director will partner with Surgical Co-Director and be responsible for actualizing our tripartite mission--clinical care, education, and research. These responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing clinical operations to ensure consistently high quality patient care with efficient and innovative utilization of clinical and material resources
  • Promoting effective collaborations among divisional faculty and other clinical and research scientists across campus
  • Facilitating medical education for all trainees
  • Recruiting new faculty to the division and supporting their career development
  • Leading innovative scholarship


Scope

  • Responsibility for ICU operations in the Surgical ICU and Burn ICU, quality and safety outcomes
  • Oversight for 14 Advanced Practitioners
  • Opportunity to lead novel programs such as the Physician Assistant Residency Program
  • Participation in Integration Efforts such as Health System ICU Clinical Community
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of new care pathways

Qualified candidates must hold an MD, DO, or equivalent degree and be eligible for licensure in Maryland. Candidates must be fellowship trained and board certified as an Adult Critical Care Physician.
