Meharry Medical College is seeking an experienced health disparities researcher to join its NIMHD funded U54 health disparities program - Research Centers of Minority Institutions (RCMI). This program focuses on research activities that seek to understand and address health disparities in cancer, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, HIV/AIDS/Infectious Diseases, and neurological disorders, including aggressive behavior and pain perception as well as social sciences and public health research. Dr. James E. K Hildreth, CEO and President of Meharry Medical College and Dr. Samuel Evans Adunyah, Chair and Professor of Biochemistry, Cancer Biology, Neuroscience and Pharmacology are Co-PIs of the RCMI U54 grant. The program plans to hire a qualified candidate at the level of Associate or Full Professor on tenure track or with tenure depending on qualifications. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in health disparities research, current funding, and an excellent record of scientific and mentorship accomplishments. The candidate would develop an independent funded research project in health disparities as well as mentor junior faculty and early stage investigators in health disparities research.

Qualification Requirements: Ph.D. in Social Sciences, Dr.PH or Ph.D. in Public Health or Epidemiology or Ph.D., M.D/Ph.D. or DDS/Ph.D. with expertise in health disparities research. The anticipated date of hiring is August 2020.
