Due to recent expansions in our clinical footprint, The Department of Anesthesiology at Wake Forest School of Medicine is seeking faculty to join our Mission to Care, Mission to Cure at Wake Forest Baptist Health.

Opportunities are available in the areas of Regional, Obstetric, Cardiac and General Anesthesiology, and Adult Critical Care Medicine.

The ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:

  • MD/DO
  • ACGME or non-ACGME Fellowship, or equivalent experience in Regional, Obstetric, Cardiac Anesthesiology or adult Critical Care Medicine
  • North Carolina licensure or eligibility
  • Experience and willingness to perform General Anesthesiology desirable for all positions

Responsibilities include supervision of anesthesia related to patient care for all types of adult surgical and non-surgical procedures, as well as education of medical students and residents. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience.

Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center is a nationally prominent academic medical center in Winston-Salem, NC with an integrated health care network that incorporates hospitals, clinics, physician practices, diagnostic centers and other primary and specialty care facilities serving the residents of 24 counties in northwest North Carolina and southwest Virginia. The Department of Anesthesiology performs over 60,000 anesthetics annually and incorporates over 125 faculty, 135 CRNAs, and 100 trainees. It consistently rates in the top 20 Anesthesiology departments for extramural funding of research and enjoys strong infrastructure for faculty development.

Winston-Salem, North Carolina, with a population of approximately 245,000, is home to Wake Forest Baptist Health. The city is nestled in the northwestern region of North Carolina, within easy driving distance of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and the pristine beaches of North and South Carolina and the Outer Banks. Winston-Salem is a very affordable area (housing costs 31% below the national average) and features a wide variety of dining, entertainment and recreational options.
