Cleveland Clinic announces its search for a Director of Research for the Orthopaedic and Rheumatologic Institute (ORI). The Research Director
will serve as Vice Chair in ORI and report directly to the Institute Chair.
The ORI Vice Chair of Research will be a nationally recognized physician leader in practice, research and education with impressive credentials. Duties and responsibilities of the Vice Chair will be to provide leadership for ORI research, which will include oversight of research operations, organization, fiduciary matters, quality and safety, recruitment, retention and mentoring of researchers. A primary area of emphasis will be the expansion of ORI basic and clinical research and trials.

The ideal Vice Chair candidate will have training in either Rheumatology or Orthopaedic Surgery, a track record of clinical excellence, possess superior communication skills and be committed to providing an exceptional patient experience. The successful candidate will be a
nationally recognized biomedical researcher with a distinguished career of academic accomplishment. Candidates should be eligible for the
rank of Associate Professor or Professor at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. Leadership style is of a servant leader with a record of excellence in clinical research, as well as significant experience in team and program development. Candidates will bring a collaborative style coupled with a commitment to elevate a top-ranked clinical research and trials program in one of the most vibrant academic institutions in the nation. The Vice Chair will demonstrate transparency, a deep sense of professionalism, commitment to diversity and inclusion in all of its forms, an unwavering ethical compass and strong support for interdisciplinary and inter-professional collaboration. The Vice Chair will be responsible for the extremely important academic and research mission of the Institute.
