Comprehensive Anesthesia Research Training Program

The UCSF Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care is accepting applications from physician-scientists and scientists interested in basic, translational and clinical research training opportunities in areas that are relevant to anesthesiology and the perioperative sciences. Candidates are invited to apply for a postdoctoral research fellowship funded by the NIH. Emphasis on:
Critical Care
Genomics, Outcomes Research and Bioinformatics
Neuroscience, Pain and Addiction
Vascular Biology and Bioengineering

Program Features:
Well-established departmental research training program (Pathway to Scientific Independence) that incorporates longstanding NIH T32 postdoctoral fellowship
The benefits of training in the world-renowned research environment of UCSF
Hands-on research with an experienced faculty mentor and team of advisors
Training activities include grant writing, ethics, and biostatistics

Appointment Structure: The length of the fellowship is two to three years. Trainees will enter the program in one of two ways:
In the latter years as residents within the UCSF Research Scholar Track of the Anesthesia Residency
As non-ACGME fellows - this entry point is available to both internal and external candidates that have finished their resident training, as well as to exceptional candidates who hold PhDs

Fellow Requirements:
PhD, DVM, DDS, MD, or comparable doctoral degree from an accredited domestic or foreign institution
U.S. citizens, non-citizen nationals, or permanent residents only
