The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) is recruiting Discipline Chairs for a branch campus to be located in Monroe, Louisiana, located on the campus of the University of Louisiana – Monroe. VCOM maintains a public and private collaborative agreement with the University.

Primary duties of the discipline chairs are to oversee curriculum content and serve as course directors for the OMS1 and OMS2 years, provide instruction and oversee instruction provided by faculty within the course.

Discipline chairs are currently being recruited for the following disciplines to begin as early as August 2019:

  • Discipline Chair Anatomical Sciences

    • Degree: PhD in Anatomy or Kinesiology with anatomy focus, or D.O. or M.D. Degree,

  • Cell Biology and Physiology

    • PhD       Cell Biology, Physiology, or Genetics degree required.

  • Microbiology and Immunology

    • PhD        Microbiology and/or Immunology required, preference to immunology.

  • Pathology and Histology

                    DO or MD degree with pathology residency

  • Pharmacology

    • Pharm D or Pharm D / PhD

Specific job descriptions will be furnished to all qualified candidates. VCOM is also seeking applicants for faculty positions to teach and perform research in these same disciplines to begin between January and June 2020.

Chairs must have a history of teaching at the college or graduate level (preference given to those with history teaching medical students or other health sciences graduate level students or PhD students). Must show history of research and promise in research, publications, and grants. Preference will be given to candidates with research in the areas of cancer, neuroscience, genetics, muscular & skeletal health, and immunology.
