The Department of Internal Medicine at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for one full-time position in the Health Sciences Clinical Series at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology to add to its current faculty. UC Davis Health serves a 65,000-square-mile area that includes 33 counties and 6 million residents across Northern and Central California. The GI Division has a long-standing history of providing outstanding care reflected in the continued increase in demand for service. The GI Division is also a leader in clinical research with a strong infrastructure to carry out investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored trials. The GI training program includes 9 GI Fellows and an Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship program.

Appointees to the Health Sciences Clinical series are required to participate in patient care, teaching, scholarly activities, and university service. The successful candidate will be dedicated to providing outstanding gastroenterology care and teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. Candidates with expertise and interest in small bowel pathologies, irritable bowel syndrome, and/or celiac disease are of particular interest and encouraged to apply. The final candidate will be expected to provide gastroenterology consultation and endoscopy services at ambulatory and hospital-based locations in the greater Sacramento region and share in call at the UC Davis Medical Center.

Candidates must have expertise in general gastroenterology and diagnostic/therapeutic endoscopy. Experience with double balloon endoscopy and capsule endoscopy are desirable. Candidates must possess an M.D. degree, be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology and have completed a three-year Gastroenterology fellowship training program. Candidates must be qualified for licensure within the State of California. Candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment.
