The Department of Surgery, Section of General Surgery is seeking candidates for a clinical track faculty position in the Division of Acute Care Surgery. The ideal candidate finds significant meaning and reward through clinical and clinical teaching activities. Applicants must be certified by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery and surgical critical care.  Requirements include demonstrated skills in emergency surgery, trauma surgery and surgical critical care. Three or more years’ experience as an attending faculty member is preferred.

 

The Department of Surgery at the University of Michigan, founded in 1850, is nationally recognized for excellence in patient care, education and research.  The hospital is an American College of Surgeons-verified Level 1 (adult and pediatric) Trauma Center, and also the state's only American Burn Association-verified Burn Center. The Division of Acute Care Surgery’s 12 faculty manage trauma and burn patients, provide comprehensive emergency general surgery services, and direct the Surgical Intensive Care Unit as well as the Trauma-Burn Intensive Care Unit. All faculty also have access to substantial research resources with support for diverse academic interests.
