The University of South Florida is seeking an academic Colon and Rectal Surgeon. The ideal candidate will have primary interest and expertise in both benign and malignant conditions of the colon and rectum and expertise in complex abdominopelvic surgery and pelvic floor reconstruction including laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgery. The candidate will be responsible for the continued growth of clinical and academic potential of the specialty, with a particular emphasis on innovative approaches, minimally invasive colorectal surgery, clinical and basic research, and teaching.
This position joins a busy five surgeon and four APP colorectal surgery service with robust and well regarded medical student, resident, and fellow education and training programs. This environment, along with the opportunity for steady growth provides a well-balanced platform to pursue research and other scholarly activities. Applicants
with prior research training and productivity are preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
Medical Degree from an accredited school of medicine
Board certified/eligible by the American Board of Surgery
Board certified/eligible by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery
Eligible to obtain an unrestricted license to practice medicine as a physician in Florida
Preferred Qualifications:
Clinical expertise in the full spectrum of colorectal surgery
Prior research training and academic productivity
Excellent communication skills
Excellent leadership skills
Demonstrated proficiency in educational and research efforts
