The Nurse Practitioner provides direct and indirect care, under the direct supervision of and in collaboration with the Supervising Physician, for oncology patients in Princeton Medicine and the Outpatient Infusion Room of the Edward and Marie Matthews Center for Cancer Care. This position provides consultation, diagnosis, treatment and follows up care of cancer patients under the direct supervision of an oncologist and is responsible for promoting seamless continuum of care for patients receiving treatment in the Outpatient Infusion Department.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Assesses the physical and psychosocial status of clients by means of interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic studies. Recognizes deviations from normal in the physical assessment. Works in collaboration with a physician in formulating treatment plans for health problems and follow-up.- Transcribes written physician orders for oncology, non-oncology, and supportive care treatments into Beacon Oncology EMR platform; ensures that all treatment plans are accurate and appropriate.- Writes prescriptions for medication, blood products based upon laboratory results, routine diagnostic and follow-up studies, therapeutic measures, and post-discharge care in accordance with written practice protocols.- Performs patient triage and determines the urgency of physicians evaluation.- Requests written consultation from physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate and quality patient care.- Interprets and evaluates findings of studies/tests. Relays appropriate information regarding patient care to the collaborating physician.- Provides symptom management for side effects related to oncologic treatment.- Initiates appropriate actions to facilitate the implementation of therapeutic plans that are consistent with the continuing healthcare needs of the client.9.\tProvides patient education regarding chemotherapeutic agents and their side effects, schedule/cycle information, and preventative care

Advanced Nurse Practice Degree from an accredited nursing school and all of the education required to have achieved such a degree.\n\nAt least five (5) years' practicing as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner\n\nActive New Jersey State Advanced Nurse Practitioner License Required\n\nActive New Jersey State Registered Nurse (RN) license Required\n\nCPR Certification\n\nAOCNP certification achieved within one year of hire.\n\nHave or be in the process of obtaining DEA and NJ Controlled Dangerous Substances licenses.\n\nAdvanced skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).\n\nKnowledge and awareness of hospital structure, medical terminology and coding\n\nExcellent oral, written, verbal and interpersonal skills.\n•\tOrganizational skills
