General Summary Statement The Clinical Informatics Analyst assists in the development, implementation, support and adoption of clinical information systems and related technology to optimize care delivery, care quality, usability and efficiency for Providers. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Clinical Informatics Analyst works with the Director of Clinical Informatics, the CMO, Nursing Informatics and Provider Informatics colleagues, departmental managers, IS professionals and health care providers throughout the organization. The Clinical Informatics Analyst supports implementation of clinical information systems and promotes provider adoption throughout CCH. Inherent in this position is the transformation of care through systems and processes to achieve improvements in quality, safety, efficiency, and service across the continuum of care. Success in this role is a function of the individuals ability to build relationships, clinical transformation strategies, and applied medical informatics, toward benefits realization of the systems implemented. ¢\tProvider Onboardingo\tWorks with the CCH Office of Medical Affairs to ensure the smooth onboarding of Providers to CCH Medical Staff o\tProvisions and trains Providers on all inpatient clinical information systems and mobile applicationso\tFacilitates Provider EHR efficiency through Personalization/Customization of EHR workspace and one on one optimization of Provider EHR workflows¢\tOngoing and Personalized Provider End User Support o\tParticipates in on-site Provider at the elbow support during business hourso\tParticipates in rotating on call 24/7 telephone Provider support, for issues impacting patient careo\tParticipates in rounding in all Provider clinical areas and engages in end user conversation about EHR functionality/challenges¢\tBuilds Provider trust and good faith by:o\tUnderstanding and responding to each Providers unique informatics needso\tDemonstrating clinical and informatics proficiencyo\tApprizing the Director of Clinical Informatics and other team members of end user issues, problems and opportunities for improvement for all clinical information systems.¢\tProvider Champions/Advocateo\tServes as the Provider representative on multi-disciplinary EHR initiatives o\tVoices how a proposed change will impact the Providero\tManages Provider EHR support requests through to resolutiono\tIdentifies and eliminates barriers/obstacles to Provider EHR adoption and useo\tAssists IS builders with design changes, participating in testing of resultant build, and rollout¢\tActively Engages Providers by:o\tSeeking Provider stakeholder input on Clinical EHR issueso\tExplaining the rationale behind a particular EHR buildo\tRe-educating Providers on problematic EHR workflowso\tParticipating in medical staff huddles and meetings¢\tPromotes Optimal EHR Usabilityo\tParticipates in Monthly Release Cycle and Upgrade Testing, break fixes or new IT system developments.o\tAssists in the development and delivery of training/education for providers and around IT implementations o\tRegularly presents changes and impact of change at various medical staff meetingso\tAnalyzes informatics Patient Safety Events involving Providers and develops/executes a remediation plan¢\tProject Liaison/Project Managero\tLeads/participates in multi-disciplinary internal and external informatics, quality, and clinical initiatives; by providing direction from an EHR and informatics perspectiveo\tIntegrates clinical informatics and information technology into clinical practice to promote efficient operations, patient safety and quality care o\tAssists with ongoing development of CPOE, clinical documentation, clinical pathways and associated key performance metricso\tPromotes cost effective care and resource utilization through IT solutions.¢\tTransitions of careo\tDevelops and supports processes to grow and maintain affinity between CCH and community providers, community care settings (nursing home, rehabilitation and home health) and referring sites.¢\tOngoing Professional Developmento\tMaintains a presence in the clinical informatics community through conference attendance and membership in informatics professional organizationso\tParticipates in information sharing, networking and collaboration with Penn and non-Penn healthcare colleagues to advance healthcare informatics and improve patient care delivery.

Qualifications/Skills:\n\n\tExcellent listener and articulate communicator.\n\tWorks effectively with diverse personalities.\n\tInterest in utilizing data to improve care delivery.\n\tUnderstanding of Providers’ roles in the delivery of care\n\tAbility to actively listen to interpret \n\tCommitted to a consultative approach to decision-making.\n\tDetail oriented, strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills.\n\tStrong technical skills, with an emphasis on documentation\n\tAbility to work independently and utilize good judgment and timing in deciding which situations require escalation or other team members’ involvement.\n\tAbility to effectively implement and manage projects. \n\tAbility to interact with all levels of healthcare personnel to include: IT staff, clinicians, clinical administrators, senior level health system leaders within a complex academic medical center environment.\n\tMust be able to function as part of a team providing a high level of quality service to clients.\n\tStrong customer service orientation and ability to follow through.\n\tAbility to analyze, diagnose, suggest and implement process changes.\n\tAbility to negotiate effectively and to build consensus among diverse groups of people. \n\tAbility to troubleshoot problems using research, analysis, and thoughtful solution creation. \n\tBroad understanding of various clinical services and the information work flow associated with each.\n\tAbility to understand and describe clinical processes and needs.\n\tAgility to quickly reprioritize and respond to the immediate needs of the Provider.\n\tMaintains/develops other administrative and communication skills such as conducting meetings, writing and speaking clearly and in a businesslike manner.\n\tAbility to understand concepts and translate them into actions.\n\tIdentifies variation in processes and constructs the required representative team which will develop the steps of the redesign process and put in motion-an ongoing effort to reduce variation.\n\tMaintains a good communication line between operational departments and Information Services, promoting the Information Systems Division's credibility and value in the organization. \n\tIs a credentialed educator (CE) for Epic Inpatient and ASAP or will become a CE within 6 months of hire.\n\tFamiliarity with EPIC Link Community connect is desirable.\n\tEpic reporting skills are desirable.\n\nEducation Training and Experience\n\tA degree in a health care related field, including medical informatics, public health, or nursing. Graduate degree preferred.\n\tInformatics training and experience preferred.\n\tEpic experience required.\n\nLicensure/Certification:\n\tNursing, PA or NP required\n\tInformatics Certification preferred but not required
