General Summary StatementResponsible for Management and Nursing Leadership oversight for Invasive and Non-Invasive Cardiology, EP and Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Services. Adheres to Nursing Policies and Procedures and Organizational Goals and Objectives. The clinical manager will work collaboratively with other hospital services, medical staff, and administration to ensure that quality patient care is delivered. Actively supervises the quality of care delivered to patients and participates in departmental QC and performance improvement activities. This position may rarely include an intermittent clinical component. Must be Registered Nurse with 24/7 accountability for the overall supervision of all Registered Nurses and other healthcare providers in an inpatient or outpatient area. The Nurse Manager is responsible for recruitment and retention, performance review, and professional development; involved in the budget formulation and quality outcomes; and helps to plan for, organize and lead the delivery of nursing care for a designated patient care area.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesIn collaboration with the Clinical Lead for Invasive and Clinical Manager Cardiopulmonary Rehab/Non Invasive CV TestingManager of the Cardiovascular Invasive Services and Cardiac Rehab RNs¢\tSupervises and Manages Cardiovascular Invasive Staff and Cardiac Rehab RNs. ¢\tConducts all activities relating to the hiring, orienting and assessment of newly hired Cardiovascular Invasive, EP staff and Cardiac Rehab RN staff. ¢\tCoordinates orientation with the Nursing staff development program. Reviews established department orientation and preceptor program and ensures documentation is completed during the probationary period. Works in collaboration with Clinical Lead Invasive and Clinical Manager CR. ¢\tConducts all probationary and annual appraisals in a timely manner per hospital policy for all Invasive Cardiology Staff and Cardiac Rehab RNs.¢\tOrganizes and coordinates the daily services of the departments. Sets appropriate priorities, uses time effectively.¢\tDevelops implements and enforces departmental policies and procedures that guide and support the provisions of services.¢\tCommunicates regularly with staff on progress toward defined goals/required results. Is open to suggestions and new ideas from staff. Provides specific feedback, coaching and corrective action when necessary.¢\tExemplifies superior customer service skills and performs service recovery.¢\tAttends all management meetings and shares information with staff through regularly scheduled departmental meetings and other methods of communication.¢\tFosters teamwork among staff. Engage employees in the decision making process when appropriate and values diversity.¢\tDemonstrates a collaborative and supportive alignment with the Department Director and Business Operations Manager toward unit goals and initiatives.Professional Role Development1.\tDevelops own nursing knowledge via practice, observation, professional literature, networking and attending continuing education programs.2.\tPromotes best practice by demonstrating a commitment to quality patient care and the profession of nursing.3.\tPromotes innovation and creativity in the practice environment.4.\tServes as a coach and mentor for new employees and student nurses, staff, and Charge Nurses.5.\tAccepts constructive feedback about performance or behaviors and shows evidence of change.6.\tDemonstrates verbal and writing skills that are appropriate for healthcare communication. 7.\tAdheres to the Department of Nursing Dress Code.Department of Nursing and Organization Support1.\tAttends assigned committee meetings and contributes to the committees. 2.\tCommunicates support of organizational values and strategies.3.\tSupports the following organizational programs: Magnet®, iCare to BE standards, Invasive Cardiology Accreditation, Chest Pain Center Accreditation and EP Accreditation, Nursing Councils, and integrates their standards into clinical practice and other program as they develop.4.\tReviews nursing quality data, e.g. NDNQI and identifies how to apply best practice into own practice and mentor others towards meeting quality target goals.5.\tMaintains attendance/lateness standards in accordance with Hospital policy.Departmental Support1.\tPerforms assigned duties to maintain unit in a state of survey readiness and maintain quality initiatives. For example, quality control measures, emergency equipment checks, medication preparation area cleanliness, etc.2.\tFacilitates staff meetings on a regular basis.3.\tKeeps patient care area and work environment neat and organized.Clinical Practice1.\tProvides age appropriate care for the population served. 2.\tUses appropriate resources for patients with special needs such as language barriers, sensory problems, altered cognition, cultural and religious needs.3.\tEnsures attention to patients physical, spiritual and emotional wellbeing.4.\tDemonstrates competency in assessment skills.5.\tPerforms pain assessments and intervenes to optimally meet patients needs. Performs clinical care in accordance with policy and procedure.6.\tIdentifies situations that warrant patient rescue and takes appropriate action, e.g. Rapid Response or Code Blue.7.\tAdheres to the 5 rights of medication administration and uses the Medication Administration Check (MAK) system per policy and procedure.8.\tIntegrates principles of infection control & infection prevention into practice.9.\tAdheres to aseptic technique as appropriate.10.\tUses resources and references for reviewing policies and procedures, medications, and clinical information.11.\tPrioritizes and organizes work effectively within assigned shift.

Education Training and Experience \n•\tActive PA license as a Registered Nurse required\n•\tMSN required\n•\tCCRN /CNL/ NE-BC-recommended\n•\tAt least 5 years’ experience in Cardiovascular Nursing- Electrophysiology or Invasive Cardiology is required\n•\tPrior management experience of 2 to 5 years required\n\nLicensure/Certification \n•\tActive PA license as a Registered Nurse required- MSN required
