The Dermatology RN facilitates the patients positive experience at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital and CPUP through delivery of quality care and individual service in the Dermatology Unit. Independently plan and provide professional nursing care for patients in accordance with the medical and nursing plans of care and established policies and procedures under the supervision of the nurse manager or practice manager. Triage patient and provider calls, prescription refills, care coordination with providers and clinic nurses as well as appointment coordination. Serve as a leader for clinical teams of other licensed and unlicensed care providers in the delivery of patient care. Support the development of other staff and formal learners. Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed and unlicensed personnel. Participate in the identification of clinical, operational, and safety related performance improvement activities. Collect and analyze patient data, make recommendations for nursing care and communicate appropriately nursing actions taken and patient responses. Other duties as assigned.
Registered Nurse with active PA state licensure. BLS/CPR required. National or specialty based certification preferred. BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing with 15 months or more of relevant professional nursing experience required.
