The Endocrine and Oncologic Surgery (EOS) Service specializing in Breast at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania has an exciting opportunity for a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C), to join their team of board certified general surgeons and Advanced Practice Providers. The EOS team at HUP/CPUP is part of the Department of Surgery. This position is to join the breast surgery section which provides surgical oncology care for breast cancer and benign breast disease, as well as non-surgical management of benign breast disease. As an NP/PA on this service you will be part of a high functioning inter-professional team who is responsible for the management of complex breast surgery patients. Responsibilities for the NP/PA who joins our team will include outpatient management, clinical decision making, procedures according to credentialing, including punch biopsy, cyst/abscess aspiration, in-office incision and drainage, management of postoperative complications, care coordination, team collaboration, and education of patients, family and staff. In addition, the provider will participate in research as applicable, ensure regulatory compliance, document care according to standards, and prescribe in accordance with their collaborative agreement and State regulations. All NP/PA's function under the guidelines as designed by Penn Medicine medical staff and are credentialed through that body. The NP/PA will be held accountable through a formal job description, delineation of privileges, and through a Collaborative/Written Practice Agreement with their supervising physician. All clinical work hours and associated requirements will be defined and managed under the direction of the supervising physician and within the Human Resource guidelines.The NP/PA will contribute to excellence in education, leadership, professionalism, and clinical practice.

Licensed to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing Regulations \n\nor \n\nLicensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine Regulations.\n\nPrior to employment, the CRNP/PA must be reviewed by the Credentials Committee and approved by the Medical Board.\n\nCertification as a CRNP or PA-C required at time of employment.\n\nPA and/or NJ RN licensure (RN) RN\n\nPA and/or NJ CRNP licensure \n\nPA and/or NJ Prescriptive Authority\n\nNational Board Certification\n\nBLS/CPR, as a healthcare provider as per the American Heart Association (For providers in the ambulatory setting)\n\nACLS (For providers in the acute care setting)\n\nNew to practice or < 2.5 years Exp
