The Department of Cardiac Surgery is looking for an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for their Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC) and Cherry Hill, NJ locations.In this role, the APP's responsibilities include evaluating patients preoperatively and postoperatively at PPMC. This role is primarily outpatient but may occasionally assist with inpatient responsibilities. Inpatient responsibilities include pre-operative consults and post-operative surgical care / consult. This APP must be licensed in NJ as well as PA and may rotate to Penn Medicine Cherry Hill for occasional office hours in that location (NJ license may be secured upon hire). Days of operation will be four (4) 8-hour shifts per week, but the days will be determined based on schedule needs (so it could be Monday through Thursday, Tuesday through Friday, or some other combination).This position has a dual reporting structure. The CRNP or PA-C will report to the Business Director for Cardiac Surgery who will be responsible for the administrative oversight of the position and the Human Resource issues relating to daily job performance. In addition, a collaborating physician will be identified from the Division of Cardiac Surgery who will be responsible for direct oversight of the clinical role and lead orientation to the clinical unit and ongoing assessment of the clinical skills. The identified collaborating physician will evaluate the CRNPs Clinical Skills and Competence as part of their annual performance review. All advanced practice providers function under the guidelines as designed by the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center medical staff guidelines and are credentialed through that body. The CRNP or PA-C hired by the Division of Cardiac Surgery will be held accountable through a formal job description, through the delineation of privileges, and through their agreement with their collaborating physician who has initiated a Collaborative Practice Agreement. All clinical work hours and associated requirements will be defined and managed under the direction of the collaborating physician/division designee, and within the Human Resource guidelines.

Licensed to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, M.S.N, and certification as a nurse practitioner or certified Physician Assistant with Master’s Degree.\n\nPrior to employment, the APP must be reviewed by the Credentials Committee and approved by the Medical Board.\n\nAcute Care Certification for Nurse Practitioner preferred
